Battling the Triffids

Originally posted on Sunday 20th August:

Today I spent 7-and-a-half hours weeding. No, that's not a typo... 7-and-a-half hours! I am seriously going to be having nightmares tonight about couch grass taking over the world.
See, this is what happens when you allow fitness to become an obsession. I get to the gym to train come hell or high water. But with a full-time job, part-time business AND a family, something has to give. In my case, it's housework. And gardening. I let things slide until I wake up one day and go EEK! and then get furiously busy undoing the weeks or months of neglect.
Fortunately, on the housework side, I have a husband who can cook and clean, and 3 sons who are capable of doing various tasks...if I nag them often enough. The garden, however, is another story.

So I now have broken nails, scratches on my arms, a bruised finger from where I slipped with the trowel (ouch!), dirt ingrained into my skin and the world's sorest legs and butt. But the garden is weed-free. :-) Just let one weed DARE to rear its ugly head.....

Man, am I gonna sleep well tonight!

Words that descibe the way I feel right now: knackered, shagged, completely wrecked (oops, that's two words!)
