Wowee!

This week I reconnected with a lady who inspires me no end. Tonia Goodman did her first Body for LIFE challenge in 2004 with great success and immediately followed it with another. She then set her sights on her first figure competition in 2005, and this photo shows how she transformed herself during that time:

This woman is a pocket rocket - from memory, she's slightly less than five feet tall, and she has 4 children. She also has a heart of gold. Tonia has gone on to win a number of competitions this year, and I couldn't believe how fab she was looking when I checked her website the other day (www.tonia.goodman.com). Here she is at a comp last month:

Perhaps I might start doing something about that vague and wishy-washy goal of mine. Might drop The Tonianator a line for a little advice.....

Do it Kek! What's holding you back, hmmm?

Tonia Todman, Shauna? Bwah-ha-ha!! She has her own website now - toniatodman.com, offering gems of craft and home-maker wisdom.

She does have a stylish new haircut...but I still don't think I want to see her in a bikini.

Sara, I'll do it if you promise to come over and cheer me on....

As for what's holding me back, let's see....the crazy diet, the low-carbing and dehydration thing, the trying to work and live a normal life, whilst feeling like complete crap and - oh yeah; the getting up on stage almost naked.

Apart from that, nothing at all...

Yeah! I'll be there to cheer you on, take pics, apply Dream Tan and bear the brunt of your carb depleted moodiness! For sure. Anyway I'll likely be in Aussie in April as usual - can you make it then?? ;) OH, oh AND I'll be there for the post-comp dessert fest. Totally. Right there.

Only if I get to have something the size of Medley Mountain. I'll gladly skip the main course and dive head-first into dessert!

I've got abs like that.....I've just camoflaged it with a mound of fat so that noone feels threatened by my gorgeousness when I'm near them hehehehehe

I love Deb's comment!!!! Too funny!
Wow, what a transformation! This gal is in the book if I'm not mistaken. I'm inspired to break the book once again and go to it.
P.S. LOVE the t-shirts!

See, I reckon she looks hot as in the photo from the end of her first challenge. The female body-builder looks creeps me out a tad, to be honest... not to be discriminatory, I feel the same about male body-builders... maybe it's the fake tan and oil, not to mention the weird-lookin' poses :|

I have to agree Amy! I like the natural healthy look in the 2nd pic. Healthy & lean, not emancipated and starved (not to mention masculine!) like the serious body building women look like as in her 3rd pic!

Kek, I wonder if you could give me the name of that restaurant you mentioned ages ago. Was it Kohla Black???

BTW what the hell is going on with the weather in Melbourne?!! I'm coming down this weekend & I don't like what I'm seeing on TV. How on earth can I wear my new bikini when its 15 degrees? Worse still I only have one really ugly pair of winter shoes that are not going to look good with my evening wear. Do you think drinking copious amounts of alcohol will keep me warm?
