Phew!

No wonder yesterday was so horrible.....it was the hottest December day in 43 years. 42.1 degrees to be precise. I went outside to hang some washing on the line at around 3:00pm and all our vegies were having a little lie down. Limp tomatoes, flaccid zucchinis, sad strawberries. Some emergency rescue measures had to be taken, pronto! I'm not usually crazy enough to stand outside in 40+ degree heat watering the garden, but it was that or let everything die.....

I was out there maybe 15 minutes, and I got sunburnt. :( My sacrifice was worht it though - the vegies are sitting up and looking perky this morning.

Today's going to be cool - thank goodness. We're supposed to get a 'shower or two' as well - fingers crossed for a good downpour.

I forget our seasons are flipped. Hope you get a cooling period soon. Nothing worse than limp veggies!

So far WA is ok, had a few smallish burns but not anything as scary or big as yours. Whow, the pics are amazing on your blog, I even had to call hubby to show him. And it usually makes ones washing stink doesn't it?
I'll sent you an e-mail soon, got to check something with you. Take care.

I did wonder if anyone would pick up on the zucchini thing. Never thought it would be you, Sara....
