This and that

The Baby got his yellow belt in karate on Monday night, and he's ultra proud of himself. Now he'll be able to lord it over all the ungraded white belts who'll undoubtedly start in the new year.

This morning I had a client booked for an outdoor session, as usual on Thursdays. It's 30-something degrees today, with a horrible hot gusty wind blowing. We did a walk instead of the usual cardio & resistance intervals, but believe me, THAT was challenging enough. Westerfolds Park has some doozies of hills, and with the high temperature and wind, it was quite a workout.

We were just about at the top of the biggest hill when I saw a movement in the trees out of the corner of my eye. I looked over and there were 3 kangaroos looking back at us. On closer inspection, there were actually about 10 of them, hiding amongst the grass and bushes. It doesn't matter that I see roos most weeks, I always get a thrill when I come across them. :)

Here's a really dodgy photo, taken with my'll have to use your imagination. Well, you can't get close to them, you know, they run away!

I have one final Christmas present to buy, plus one parcel to post off to Perth, and I'm all done with the shopping. I'll get those out of the way tomorrow morning. I still have a million and one things to do though, mostly involving cleaning up around here in preparation for the 28 people who are coming for lunch on Christmas Day.

Right now, I have more important things to take care of - like getting my hair done. Can't look all scruffy at Christmas!
