Prescription: retail therapy

What do you do when you're feeling miserable and sick? You go shopping, of course!

Today went much better than yesterday's aborted attempt, where after purchasing one bright orange Converse hoodie and getting some prescriptions filled, I proceeded to bite the head off some poor teenager at Target who wanted to check my bags.... I told him that if he suspected me of stealing something, he could call the police, but no, he could NOT check my bags. And I marched out. Um. Gee. Hey, I'm sick, OK?

So today, I claimed my doctor's bill at Medicare, browsed a few dress shops, stocked up on Panadol, then picked up the cutest powder-blue waterproof parka with a fur-trimmed hood. Voila:

No, I'm not modelling it, my nose is red, my skin is dry and I desperately need my hair cut and coloured.

Anyway, now I have NO excuse for not walking, no matter the weather. Although perhaps I might need matching gloves....

The maddening thing about Target is they make such a big deal about checking your bag then don't even check it properly. I've walked through the city store with my backpack bursting at the seams and they just glance in it after I've gone to the effort of taking it off and unzipping it.

Of course, it could be the dirty bra sitting on top that puts them off :)

Hope you're feeling better.

I see you took my advice! Clever girl you are! And yes, matching gloves, scarf and .... oh hell, a complete outfit would be good! And bag.

Gosh the flu is going around now, it's every where! I hope you feel better soon, I like the parka!
I am with you, I get so annoyed that every shop we go out they want to check bags, and imagine it's not just my bag is the pram and baby nappy bag, I should just leave a stinky smelly one in there one day and open it and go "there you have it" but the poor things are only doing the job the oldies there don't wanna do and stand the whole day. Did you know they are not allowed to open your bag they'll ask and expect you to do so, there is some right or law that they are not allowed to go through your stuff (I heard).
Ok, go sleep it off ok!

I know that shop staff have no right to inspect your bags. But I shouldn't have been Mrs Bitchy Pants to the poor kid who was just doing his (crappy) job. Ah well, I'll just have to declare a "be nice to shop staff" day or something to make up for it.

Chris, I think you're right - scarf, beanie, gloves....hmm, what else?
