I got an emergency appointment with the osteopath last night. I've kind of put off going, because my usual girl ran away and left me - she's apparently gone travelling or something. Very rude - how dare she do that when I need her? Anyway, the replacement girlie I had last time was not that good. I'm sure she was OK at her work, but she was way too tentative for my liking, and I didn't feel like I got much out of it.

Things got a bit desperate this week - my lower back was not playing nice and my right shoulder was giving me hell, plus my right arm was doing that thing where it wakes me up umpteen times a night with a bad case of pins and needles. Ouch.

So I rang and asked who else they had and made an appointment with another new girl. The minute she laid hands on me, I knew she was going to do the trick. Man, she was strong! No pussyfooting around here.

I've had this odd sharp pulling sensation in my upper back for a few weeks now. It comes and goes, and is worse when the right shoulder is tight. It was right between my shoulder blade and my spine, and OUCH, it hurt! She poked around in there for a bit, made me lie this way, sit that way, move my arm here, turn my head there. And she went AHA!

Seems my 3rd rib is not quite where it ought to be. Oh. That would explain it.

I've been told to be careful in the gym for now and she'll do some more work on it in a couple of weeks. Careful? I suppose that means 60kg rack pulls are out for now.

Good thing they're not on my current program.

Damn those ribs, they're so inconvenient! lol
Careful with that shoulder Kek. What you described with the pain and the pins and needles thing was how my frozen shoulder began and believe me you do not want to go down that path.

Don't worry Deb, I really am being careful. The numbness thing is related to my tennis elbow - which IS related to my shoulder problems. Mainly I get the pins and needles when a couple of muscles in the shoulder get all tight and squeezy and squish a big blood vessel that runs down my arm.

Mostly, I need to rest more and stay off the damn computer.

Yeah. Like that's going to happen.
