May the force be with you (and your kale chips)




The kale chips were a huge success - well, I loved them anyway. Bike Boy tried one, went "meh" and went back to tucking into his potato wedges. The Baby eyed them suspiciously, asked "What's THAT?" and then ignored them

Fine. All the more for me.

I pretty much followed Sara's method here, adding garlic salt and a teensy sprinkling of grated parmesan. Crunchy, salty, garlicky goodness. Noms. I was a bit unclear on the timing, so had a conversation with Sara on Facebook that went something like this:

Me: So how long should I cook these things for?
Sara: Not long. Check them often, green is good, brown is blech.
Me: "Not long"? So, like five minutes? Twenty minutes? Give me a ball park figure.
Sara: You'll know when they're done. Use the Force.

In the interests of well-cooked and tasty kale chips, I give you correct timing by my experience....

With the oven temperature at about 170C, I gave them 4-5 minutes, then turned them and moved them around before putting them back in for another 2 minutes or so. Depending on your oven, it might take more or less time, so check them frequently and, uh...use the Force.


Feb Photo-a-Day is still going; I just didn't go anywhere to take a suitable photo yesterday....Today's will be a challenge too, given that at 10:00am I'll be halfway through an RPM class. Won't be stopping to take photos, either.
