AntiOx bars & chocolates - review and giveaway

Product talk by Nuffnang

What could be better than a long weekend? I'll tell you: a long weekend where you arrive home from a hideous week at work, relishing the thought of four lovely days off and you find.... FREE CHOCOLATE waiting for you.

Oh, my Lord... which to try first?
We all know we should be eating foods rich in antioxidants. The natural antioxidants found in fruits, grains and seeds can help our bodies fight the free radicals that contribute to ill health, plus enhance our immune systems and assist with overall wellbeing. Of course it's important to eat your fruits and veggies, but did you know that dark chocolate also contains health-enhancing antioxidants?

AntiOx snack bars are chock-full of antioxidants, thanks to their high cocoa content from the rich, 70% dark chocolate coating. They also contain wholegrains and superfruits and come in three varieties:

  • Chia and quinoa
  • Açai
  • Goji

The chocolate coating also combines the antioxidant power of of 70% cocoa dark chocolate and superfruits goji and açai. The combination adds up to an  antioxidant power that's equivalent to twelve cups of green tea.

And if you're concerned about consuming too much sugar? These babies are sweetened with stevia, a plant-based natural sweetener. To put that into perspective, an 80g block of AntiOx Açai chocolate contains six serves, with each providing:

54 Calories
0.9g protein
5.5g fat
1.8g carbohydrate

I selflessly taste-tested the Açai chocolate to bring you this review and it's really, really good. It has a rich dark chocolate flavour and a smooth texture. The hint of açai is pleasantly fruity without dominating the overall taste.

My verdict? It's a great sweet treat, and should especially appeal to the health-conscious market. I'd buy it, no problems. It's available in the health food section of supermarkets.

I am a busy mum of three who loves chocolate, but I have made the decision to try and improve my lifestyle. I don't drink or smoke, but I do have a sweet tooth, and this isn't a good thing!
This prize would be really great as I could still enjoy a 'treat' without feeling guilty.
I love my daughters enough that I'd die for them, but what I really want to do is live for them.
My email is if I am fortunate enough to be selected as a winner.

I would like to try this product as I am trying to lose weight by sticking to 1200 calories per day. At only 54 calories per bar this is the perfect snack that won't send me over the calories count!

Would love to win the chocolate as hello! It's chocolate with health benefits, what more could one want?! I am currently overhauling my diet as I have recently just had our second child, I want to lose weight, feel better & I am always looking for snacks low on calories that are quick and easy. The main benefit that stuck out to me is the fact they are equivalent to 12 cups of green tea which has so many health benefits in particular research saying it can reduce cancer. Can be contacted via Facebook Kate Waterman

Chocolate what's good for you? Chocolate what's low in carbs?! Does it get better than that?!? Over the last 13 months I've lost more than 65kg... but I still have just under 7kg to go. It's getting really, really hard, and I'm watching everything I put in my mouth. Gotta. Get. To. The. Goal. But I work out so much, I reckon I deserve the occasional treat. And some days, only chocolate will fix it. I could have some of this, and still be under my calorie goal... just what the trainer ordered... perfect!!! Maenad01 on twitter.

I'd love to try the chocolate because the quinoa would give me that extra protein I need and the antioxidants would stop me from ageing. The chia seeds would help keep me regular and provide me with essential Omega 3s. This is my rationale for being able to eat chocolate every day and make it an essential food group.

After being a Gym Junkie in my early years, and now a Fruit Smoothie freak, I am trying to stay away from Chocolate. I don't always succeed!!
But to have a Antiox Bar that is healthy and taste good - now that seems too good to be true!
